Dear friends,
From the lush tropical rainforests of Congo to the scattered remnants of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil, from the Chaco Dry Forest in Argentina to the green mountain ranges of the Cape, you work relentlessly and with passion to protect and restore the most inspiring places on our planet.
Fortunately, this year we were able to visit your programmes again after two years of experiencing your work only from paper and stories on Zoom. And it confirmed once more that no report, picture or video meets the experience of immersing yourself in nature: smelling, hearing, feeling and understanding the complexity around the restoration and protection of our natural wonders.
No wonder that many of you are working to share the beauty of the areas you work in with others. Therefore, we wrap up this eventful year with already the fifth edition of our GO Magazine on the topic of Ecotourism: a driver of change, showing that ecotourism is so much more than just a (potential) source of income.
Join us in discovering the experiences with setting up ecotourism of some of our partners and the communities they work with. Their stories tell us it is a learning journey, hard work and sometimes unsuccessful, but above all a fantastic way to create a true bond between people and nature.
With warm greetings,
The DOB Ecology team
