‘Towards environmentally sustainable and socially responsible governance of La Plata Basin’. There’s no escaping the main goal of the Wetland Without Borders program on its new website. The program aims to preserve the biodiversity of the La Plata Basin in South America and the sustainable livelihoods of its communities. How Both Ends and their partners work toward their goal is shown extensively in a very attractive way, that invites you to explore the various themes and learn about the the world’s largest connected freshwater wetland system.
The golden lion tamarin and yellow fever vaccine
Associação Mico Leão Dourado (AMLD) has been working towards a biodiverse and vibrant habitat for the Golden Lion Tamarin in the Atlantic forests of Brazil: a crucial step towards the survival of this endangered species. They have successfully reconnected two large forests comprising crucial tamarin habitat.
This documentary produced by AMLD narrates the impacts of the yellow fever outbreak that hit the tamarin population in 2017 and which led to the development of a vaccine to protect the monkeys from the disease.
Rewilding Argentina’s milestones of 2021
2021 knew the same environmental crises as the year before: pandemics, climate change, and biodiversity loss. But far from giving up, Rewilding Argentina doubled their efforts to confront and reverse these crises.
